  • Showing love to my favorite punctuation mark.

Though I am very much guilty of overuse of the em-dash, there is no softer spot than the ever-so-soft spot I hold in my grammatical heart for the semicolon, the most lovely of punctuation marks.  Don’t you love when you hear the distinct pause of a  semicolon in a song or in conversation or feel the perfection of a well placed semicolon in writing?  Oh, be still my heart.
